Effective October 30, 2026 (first published October 6, 2026). This page says what Techichi collects, why, who handles it, and how you get rid of it. It is short because we collect little.
What We Collect, and Why
Your email address, to sign you in and to reach you about your account. It is held by the sign-in service we use. If you were invited by address, Techichi holds that address only until your first sign-in, then removes it. After that the sign-in service holds your address, and Techichi keeps a verified copy only while you have a price alert turned on, so the alert can reach you.
Your date of birth, once, at sign-up, to check that you are 18 or over. The date is checked and not kept; only that the check passed is.
The venues you use, so your venues come first on Check and the Board compares them.
Your state, if you choose to give it. It is optional and defaults to "prefer not to say". If given, it is kept with your settings and used for nothing else today. If that changes, this page changes first.
What you enter: positions, prices you type in, and screenshots you attach. This is the product. Reading a screenshot to fill the form is on for every account since October 30, 2026; how it works is under "Reading screenshots" below. Your positions and prices are visible only to you. Screenshots are visible only to you and to the operator when a reading has to be checked by hand.
Your settings: which sportsbook to compare with, how prices and results are shown (percent, cents or American odds; per 100, per 1,000 or as a percent), and theme.
Technical records: each action that writes to your record, each read of it through an API key or a connected assistant, and the time of your first price check, and errors, so we can find and fix problems and so you can see what touched your record. These hold your account id, not your email; they are kept for 400 days and the ones tied to you are deleted with your account. Requests to the API are logged for 90 days with a hash of the caller's address that changes every day, never the address itself. Sign-in times are recorded by the sign-in service, not by us.
What We Do Not Do
We do not sell or rent your data. We do not show your record to anyone but you, unless you choose to publish it on a public record page, when that page is offered; it is switched off during the beta, and you can turn yours off at any time once it is on. We show no advertising and use no advertising or analytics trackers; no page of Techichi loads a script or pixel from an advertising or analytics company. We do not read your screenshots for anything other than the contract you asked us to read, and to measure how well the reader read it against what you confirmed. We do not share your record with any venue, sportsbook or data broker.
Anonymous Price Observations
From what people enter, Techichi keeps price observations: a venue, a contract, a price, a time. These carry nothing that identifies who entered them, and we may publish them in aggregate, as findings. They are how the record of whether prediction-market prices were fair gets built. They stay after an account is deleted because they no longer belong to anyone.
Who Handles Your Data for Us
We use a small number of services to run Techichi, each for one job, each under its own terms and each with the least access it needs.
They handle sign-in, hosting for the app and the website, the database (in the United States), the worker that collects prices, storage for screenshots and backups, email, and, when Pro opens, payment (we never see your card number).
Reading screenshots. When you share a screenshot of a price, Techichi sends the image to a service provider that reads the venue, the game, the side, the number, the price and the time off it, so the form is filled in for you to check. This is on for every account since October 30, 2026. Only the image is sent: no name, email address, account identifier or anything else about you goes with it. The provider uses the image only to read it for us, does not use it to train its models, and deletes it within 30 days, unless its systems flag the image as abusive, in which case it may keep it longer. The screenshot itself stays in Techichi's own storage, under your account only. A screenshot you do not log is deleted after 30 days; one attached to a price you logged is deleted when your account is. You can log any price by typing it instead; sharing a screenshot is always your choice.
If we add a new kind of service, this page changes.
How It Is Protected
Every connection is encrypted. Each user's rows in the database are locked to that user by row-level security, enforced by the database itself and not only by the app. Positions and prices are append-only: nothing is edited after the fact. The accounts we use to run Techichi have two-factor authentication. Backups are encrypted and kept in a separate store.
No system is perfect. If we learn that your data was exposed, we will tell you promptly and say what happened.
How Long We Keep It
Your record stays as long as your account does. Screenshots you share but do not log are deleted after 30 days; the rest go with your account. Backups are kept for 35 days and then deleted, so a deleted account can persist in a backup for up to 35 days before it ages out.
Deleting Your Account
On the Account page, "Delete my account" does the following at once: your screenshots and their readings are deleted; your email and settings are removed; your sign-in is deleted at our sign-in service; your positions and typed prices are kept only as anonymous rows that no longer point to you. This cannot be undone.
Cookies
Techichi sets the cookies needed to keep you signed in, and nothing else. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Children
Techichi is for adults. Sign-up asks for a date of birth and keeps only whether it showed 18 or over, never the date. An account whose date shows under 18 is refused and cannot be used, and a second date is not accepted; what remains of it is the sign-in address held by our sign-in service and the time of the refusal, until the person writes to us and we delete it. An account found later to belong to someone under 18 is deleted.
Your Rights
You can see everything we hold about you on Record and Account. You can correct your settings there. You can delete everything as above. If you live somewhere that gives you further rights over your data, write to us and we will honour them.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we will say so on the site and by email before the change takes effect.
